August Meet and Greet!

Hello everybody, it's that time of the month, with apps and acceptances and whatnot! Instead of filling the OOC comms with intros, this is a MEET AND GREET for new players and characters!

• This is a place for you to introduce you and your character. You can ramble on about what you want to do while you're here, CR opportunities, your cats, anything.

• Reply to others about how EXCITED you are to play with them!

• Maybe make some friends!

• An IC intro log will be posted for all incoming players on August 15th!

Howdy, I'm Ranko - one of the modfaces and a fellow Square Enix character mun. Who happens to have silly pants as well. And use a key-shaped sword as a weapon.

Yes, yes we are. I always have to re-look-up what Noel's are called, but Terra has epic hakama.

And it's a pleasure to meet you! Birth by Sleep is actually my favorite Kingdom Hearts title, so I'm quite familiar with this keyblade-slinger.

Oh. Goodness, no pressure at all, then - Birth By Sleep pretty much is my favorite title in the series, heartbreak and all. ^^; I hope I don't disappoint - this keyslinger's AU, but I still hope he's recognizably himself in the ways that matter.

I do have to say that it was an absolute joy reading your application - I almost picked up a Noel during my playthrough of XIII-2, so I really look forward to these two somehow meeting up.

Perhaps one day they can discuss the benefits of pants nobody else seems to appreciate. Or I'll imagine such a silly scenario anyway.

I did notice the AU, and one of the interesting things about them is they make you think about what's intrinsic to a character. The things that'd change, and the things that wouldn't. I like to think it gives you the sense of what really makes the essence if a character.

Wow, thank you. I had quite the time articulating what I Noel about this guy (...I could not resist...), but I had a good proofreader to tell me I where I ought to explain more, or consolidate paragraphs, all that good stuff. And gosh, it seems like folks like Noel but don't play him, so clearly this means more room for moi...or something. Always down for meeting Terra, he's a great character.

Light, that'd be a silly but somehow totally serious conversation. Good mental image fodder, at the very least!

And yeah, they really do - cutting a character down to their core just to figure out how they'd grow and change with different circumstances while still being themselves is something I'v come to really enjoy about the AU process. Not just that, but figuring out how all those little changes ripple outward to make big changes... it's really fascinating, even if I'll never play even 1/4 of the things I brainstorm.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm usually intimidated by new canons if I almost pick up a muse for them. New Muse Jitters, if you will. It's sad that characters like Noel don't get played so often, because I *adored* him in XIII-2 - I really need to finish XIII-3 for prime heartbreak, I think.

Definitely down for somehow meeting - sparring buddies is a thing that should probably happen. :D

You need more XIII in your life, goodness. But by the same token I haven't read KHR - however I've had the pleasure of playing with characters from that series, including Hibari. Pretty excited to see him around here.

Well. Her weapon is a moogle that turns into a bow...that can convert to a sword. Also you can throw the moogle outside combat and he'll fetch distant swag for you.

I SUPPOSE AT LEAST THEY DON'T MAGICALLY CHANGE SHAPE YEAH. Although presumably Noel's interlocking his swords or something weird like that.

Figure it might be compensation for the crushing despair that's usually visited upon them at least a few times over. That or it's a case of, "this looks cool let's do this thing." But everyone needs nonsense-weapons.
