A Small Update + Operation Reignition 01

Hey everybody! Time for a couple announcements.

We've updated a couple of the information pages, particularly the setting page, with some new information. Most particularly we finally have a map of the city!

Which, more importantly, leads us to our first event!

Operation Reignition 01

Simply put, our first event is going to be an exploration log of the new district, District 3.

"The premiere shopping district of the city, constantly abuzz with people going about business of some kind. Most of the buildings here have shops in at least the lowest floor of the building, with a few shopkeepers having apartments above their stores. Anything your characters might want to buy is here, from food to clothes to technology, even furniture if they want to pick up something a little different for their apartment. Scattered between the shops are restaurants, arcades, coffee shops - all the little places that help support people out for a long day of shopping.

Characters looking for jobs are most likely to find them here, as well; even if it's not particularly needed, most native shopkeepers are willing to hire on one or two visitors. There's also a few empty places, if you want to open up something of your own, although those are a bit more out-of-the-way than simply getting a job at someone's storefront.

Notable landmarks include a public outdoor marketplace, a large sprawling shopping mall, and the city's largest convention center."

But there's a bit more to it than that. Irene will announce the upcoming expedition to the new district around Friday or so. Basically, civilians of the city need the help of the Guests to fully charge the generators that power that section of the city. There are three main power generators in District 3 that will need charging:

In order to charge these generators, the NPCs will be leading three different groups of 5-6 to each generator. From there, the characters will receive the instructions they need to power up the generators and restore that section of the city.

But there's more! Even if your character is not able to be a part of one of the main groups, there are around 50 or so smaller generators interspersed throughout the streets of the district that will need charging from 2-3 people each. What's more, those who aren't involved in the main generator groups will be able to explore District 3 itself, and who knows what you may find out there…

However, there are some mild risks, for everyone involved. Most particularly, there will be an increased energy drain on those who enter District 3, though not as severe as the power drain on the fully inaccessible districts. In many cases, physical contact of some kind (even holding hands will do) will be necessary to counteract these effects. These effects will last until power is restored. This means that when taking volunteers for teams, the NPCs will try to discourage anyone who's experiencing withdrawal symptoms from participating, though someone with very low symptoms might be able to squeeze by. People who opt to work on the smaller generators will be less closely monitored, though officials will still try to stop anyone visibly ill from entering.

The event will start on Sunday, June 30th, and will primarily take place ICly that day, though backtagging is and will be encouraged.

Fill out the following form if you'd like your character to be in one of the groups that goes to take care of the main generators! Please only sign up one character per player. If we get more than 15-18 signups, we will randomly select the groups. Signups will close on June 29th at 11:59 pm PST.

Let us know if you have any questions! Also, feel free to use this post to plot with your fellow players!
