EVENT UPDATE #2: Trick and Treat
Hello once again, my little flames. How does your Halloween season fare so far? We have a few new updates for you, and I'm sure you will like at least one or two.
First of all, we would like to announce we have simplified AC requirements. We personally felt that attempting to achieve so many proofs within a month for a game our current size to be unfair for all players. Because of this, our new requirement is ten comments for network entries OR five comments for log entries from your character in total.
We'd also like to announce that the App This Plz Prep is up! Is there anyone you'd like to enable for a few cuddles? Feel free to list the characters you want to see there!
(We also encourage more memes being posted; we love silliness too, okay.)
With those out of the way, it's time for one final update!
Trick and Treat
October 16 - October 28
The paranormal activity is growing stronger as the days toward the festival progress, and as the sun sets on the 23rd, it reaches its peak.
The shadows become much clearer once the twilight sets in, many of which are only black silhouettes that for all purposes seem human... humans that are suffering greatly. They don't seem to be as fleeting, either - drawn to guests like a moth to a flame, reaching out their hands. Those with scanning, soul reading and telepathic capabilities will hear a cacophony of voices from them, as if many voices were crying out for their help...
However, there are more menacing things lurking in the midst of the Spirits. Demons also are attracted to the city's guests, and they look nearly identical to their formerly human counterparts aside from a mask they wear. These masks, however, are incomprehensible to the eyes of the beholder. At a distance, they will appear to be perplexing and likely attract those with weaker wills. Get too close, and you will feel a strong urge to look away and run. A good thing, too; when demons touch your character, they will be forced to recall unpleasant visions of their past.
In fact, try not to let spirits or demons touch you, because the spirits are all too willing to share their own pasts. The presence and touch of either of these can cause nightmares and lethargy, along with negative feelings and thought patterns in general. Characters will also feel the effects of lacking the required physical contact at an accelerated rate. One touch will double the speed, two will triple, and so on.
However, there are ways to counteract this: Remember the little lights that appeared before? They too are drawn to the guests, particularly those who are affected most strongly by their dark counterparts. Characters who come into contact with one of these will gain the ability to relieve the symptoms of those affected by spirits and demons. If they have already been affected, they will be cured upon being touched by Light, however they will not gain the ability to relieve the symptoms of other. They will also be more positive thinkers for a day or two!
The phantoms will disappear on the evening of October 28th.
We are including sign-ups below for those being affected by the demons and spirits as well as those who will be contacted by the Light. There is no sign up limitations as they are simply for keeping track and plotting purposes. Those chosen of Light, feel free to comment and plot with those otherwise affected! No one has to be alone in the darkness.
As always, this part of the event is optional.

He will see the children running away from him, soon screaming when a deafening cry that seems almost inhuman before his vision seems to focus on the ground.
The same voice from earlier will then scream, crying our for help.
"It hurts...! Mommy...? Someone...?! Help...m...!"

He will then hear the sounds of children screeching in fake terror as they flee from a voice from behind him; in fact, he feels as though he is running from the voice too and see little fists as he "runs" from a small boy who is flapping his arms like they are wings.
That is when a deafening, inhuman cry can be heard and the child seems to be in a daze before it hears a small voice cry out in pain.
"Brother...?" the voice calls, before spying a smaller figure pinned by the rubble of a nearby building. "...Al-!"
The rest is a blur, but the impression of trying to lift something heavy and something smacking his head weighs heavily on his mind...

He will also smell smoke as the coughing continues, and all he can see is a wall of white-hot flame as he runs. Terra will feel as though his mouth is moving, but what comes out is a girl's voice:
"Where are you-?" she coughs out, holding a wet cloth to her mouth. "Rey? Allen!? Answer me!"

What she will be able to realize is that the readings went from "normal" to "critical" in the blink of an eye.
The scientist ran through a door, despite the colleagues fleeing the scene, and only to see a massive wall of flame before the memory ends.
On a charred corpse the same shape as the spirit.

Rin will see a window in a similar style as the woodwork in the temple held in the 4th district; in fact, it is the temple, though in pristine condition. Yet outside, in the distance beyond the river, there is an inferno and an unearthly wail of pain.
"-the fools."
She blinks. The young priestess then grasps a hand next to her, glancing at another girl in a golden yellow hood before they chant in unison:
"Mother Earth--grant these lost souls succor in their hour of need. Permit thee that thy caverns grant refuge for thy wandering children."

sounds like a planThe first spirit is about Marie's height. holding a hand over its mouth as it reaches with it's right hand. Stein will be able to see that it is a tormented soul, on the edge of what he perceives to be Madness.
He's staring at a monitor as he's typing away, though unable to read the characters on the screen due to a language barrier. At least, until the warning sirens begin to blare in his ears and there are sounds of glass shattering.
All this data... it must be recorded for future generations. We will make history this day-!
...He's completely ignoring the warning sirens and the glass cracking, only really reacting to it when the resulting blast sends him flying out of his chair and into the wall behind him. Only then does a small, insane laugh escape the scientist.
"Yes... Yes! We've done it!"
The last thing to be seen is a black silhouette amidst the flames, the laughter becoming consumed by them...

"Lady summoner!"
The young man runs after a woman in a white robe trimmed with an intricate pattern of red, gold, green, and blue. Yet the hooded woman only looks back briefly.
"I beg you, please don't go into the inferno! Who will perform the rites if you-"
Yet the woman's voice cannot be heard as the roar of flame grows ever louder. Pilouette can see her lips moving, but after that, the woman continues running towards the flame with staff in hand.
The man follows.
