January Meet And Greet

Hello everybody, it's that time of the month, with apps and acceptances and whatnot! Instead of filling the OOC comms with intros, this is a MEET AND GREET for new players and characters!

• This is a place for you to introduce you and your character. You can ramble on about what you want to do while you're here, CR opportunities, your cats, anything.

• Reply to others about how EXCITED you are to play with them!

• Maybe make some friends!

• The IC intro log will be put up on January 20th!

• And for those old and new here, check out our recent event info!

Here's a little copypasta box for people who like boxes. Remember, it's all optional!

Krok is almost certain to ask what sort of robots have been here before him. I hope she's ready to answer questions!

She'll only be able to give names since she didn't ask much, but hey. She'll be glad there's someone taller than her now, at least! (at eight feet it gets a little awkward when the average is still ~5.5-6)

Also she will be very curious as to how he was made because sentient machines aren't really a thing in her world.

How he was made might be a conversation that requires some CR building (and that would be awesome). There's some weird/icky classism/bigotry issues involved and Krok is not on the privileged side of the argument.
shadowsgambit: (Not so bad)

Oh, are there? If either of them can ever get around to talking about it I think they'll find they have that much in common too!

Now I am most deeply intrigued!

Well, it doesn't have anything to do directly with her birth, but the short version is she's a racial minority in her world and cyberpunk dystopias don't do societal enlightenment.

…smells like Shadowrun. :D

Yep, that's exactly what it is!

Although, I'll be honest, I've never played the tabletop games. My only exposure has been through the video games and she herself is the (or one possible iteration of the) player character in the onboard campaign in Shadowrun Returns, so I might get things wrong in an embarrassing newbie kind of way...

Pshaw, the tabletop is not the be-all-end-all. I've never played it myself; a friend tried to get me in on a game but when the GM kept griping because I wanted to try running as a decker, I bowed out. Like a few of the novels, though, and the overall setting. Had no idea there was a video game!

Man, what the hell? I get that it can be obnoxious to set up a mini-run just for the team decker, but griping at your player is even more annoying.

There have been a few! Two old-school ones for the Genesis and SNES (though the fans adore the SNES one so much its protagonist played a part in Shadowrun Returns I vastly prefer the Genesis one), a FPS that breaks intrinsic rules for the PC (goddamnit Microsoft)(I have never played this one nor have I seen footage of it), Shadowrun Returns is a PC game made by one of the tabletop game's original creators, and it's less a game than a platform for campaigns, both official and player-made. And lastly the current owners are working on a tactical MMO.

Yeah, that GM was just kind of crap-lousy in general. Complete skeevelord in my DnD2e campaign.

I might have to poke at the MMO, maybe. I'm awful with tactics. But Shadowrun MMO.

My PC isn't much of a gaming PC, which is why I've been side-eying it so bad. Do I want to preserve my computer's graphics card from beating it up even more than I am? Or do I want to play a Shadowrun MMO?

And that's not even getting into whatever it's going to cost.
