EVENT: Creature Comforts

As the sun rises Friday morning, there is an odd, relatively benign undercurrent of magic in the air. Strangely enough, only the Visitors to Saeng Seong can detect this undercurrent, the natives being completely ignorant of it. To a select few, the current is even tangible to some extent, feeling much like a refreshing spring breeze that leaves a tingling sensation on the skin. As the day progresses, however, this feeling will vanish.

As the sun sets and the residents of the city fall asleep, those that felt that tingling sensation will find themselves yearning for the outdoors. Perhaps a door will be left open, or windows cracked. In some cases, they might find themselves with the un-ignorable urge to sleep outside under the clear night sky.

The next day, those that felt the odd compulsion will find themselves affected by the magic they had absorbed the previous day, and wake up in an... interestingly altered state.

Greetings, players! As you can probably take from the title of this event post, there is some strange magic afoot, and several characters will find themselves transformed into animals of some kind.

Yes, animals. Because that's how we roll. Small or large, feathered or scaled, mundane or something straight out of fantasy, the sky is the limit - as long as the creature isn't so large that they can't fit in the lobby of a building.

What does this mean for you, the suddenly transformed players? It means that for one week, those affected by the magic that had permeated the air on Friday will be stuck in this new form. Those trapped like this will find themselves not only physically transformed, but slowly mentally turning into that same animal.

How do you prevent this, you might ask? The same way that the city is powered, of course! Physical contact will help the new animal instincts from taking over those affected.

How do you sign up? Just leave a comment below saying you'll be participating, and what your character will be turned into, and get to plotting!

I'm totally up for her opening up a petsitting service, of sorts, though.

So I'm only mostly solid on animal form (what can I say, I'm transparent in my choices and wonder if I should do something different or stick to my guns), but all I know is I want Kanji going outright feral about mid-week and onward into the end of the event and trying to establish territory and whatnot. This means aggression, fighting and what-have-you.

So what I'm offering for the scrappy folks is a balls-to-the-wall fight if someone wants to brawl. I'm not too picky on fight outcomes so long as they don't kill or disembowel each other, but a rather even win/loss ratio would make me happiest. Any takers?

This also means finding him later and trying to touch/pet him and snap him out of it. I'm open for takers on that, too.

So Yu will be a cat (big shock) and will more than likely do two things: get himself a cat army and figure out how Banchou does his ninja thing.

So Y'akeno is going to become a Young Coeurl from Hydaelyn, and likely wandering around offering people rides to different districts in pseudo-attempts to practice not accidentally paralyzing them.

Lightning is gonna be a mountain lion, and it will be AWESOME. She might get ridiculously aggressive or scared mid-week though since she might not let anyone touch her while she's a giant cat she doesn't even know about (seriously ffxiii has no Earth animals). Unless of course they promise that it's not petting because that would be so weird (ignore her, give her pettings). So, who wants to meet this giant predator?

Pharos is going to be a bitty black dragon. Because it's cute and I say so. He'll be largely non-destructive, helped by the fact that he's a baby dragon and he can only make a little fire, but he can still freak people out. And maybe try and be a SUPER FIERCE DRAGON later on in the week.

As for size, when I saw 'bitty' I'm thinking like... can land on your head and chill there bitty, if anyone would like that. Don't have much planned outside of that!
