EVENT: Memory Swap

Based on some player plot suggestions, we’ve got a little bit of fun planned for you guys in the form of an event! It’s been a while since there’s been some tampering with the direct effects of contact between characters….And it’s about time for that to come into play!

How so? Starting on the 23rd (and going to the 30th with some leeway) memories and recall might become a bit odd for your character, and people they’ve been close with.

See, the contact system has been finicky again, and those people you’ve been spending time with, been in contact with...You might get to know them better, and vice-versa. It could begin in dreams, or a sudden hallucination.

But certain memories from your companions could end up in your head, and you trade some of your own. You may even LOSE those memories for a short time. Maybe it’s a dark secret, a sad or a happy memory…Or just that embarrassing event you try to forget about. But it’s not just yours anymore.

MECHANICS FAQ:
Can I swap memories with more than one person?
Quite possibly! The main thing is that it’s a two way swap, between you and the other character. So for example, Character A can swap memories with B, and then swap memories again with C. But if B and C want to swap memories, they’ll have to make contact.

Can I swap memories that aren’t my own?
As mentioned above, no. You’ll need to make contact with the original owner of the memories if you’d like a swap!

Do I have to forget?
Not at all! That’s an optional effect for extra drama, to take or leave as you see fit.

What memories count?
Canon memories, RP memories, it’s all good.

Do you happen to have a text box I can use for this event?
But of course! Naturally, this is optional if you want to fill it out!

I would so so love for Oak and Red to meet. Did you want to imagine at all that their test drive thing was a thing that happened? Or we could have them meet again in game. Either way I would be up for some of dat CR.

I would totally love some family fluff because I'm a sucker. And Sam could have any Red related memory. I would be happy to discuss stuff not also on there that may interest you (memories of his alternate universe!grandchildren can be a thing)

I think it would be a little different because in canon!Rekindle Sam isn't going to make Dragonite carry him so soon after losing a battle, but we can arrange something! (He's probably having trouble getting Dragonite fed. It's no Snorlax but I imagine it still eats a lot because of its size.)

But exchanging family memories sounds really cute :) (Does Ash count as Red's anime counterpart? :|a)

Sure sure! Then I would be happy to have them bump into each other a different way. Red usually trains around the park, but he also does end up in other places. He has a job (at a place) because yeah gotta keep those Pokemon mouths fed and how much greenery is there around to help with that.

Luckily, I'd think that Snorlax don't need to eat the full 900 pounds of food, just that it makes them happy and they'll full asleep right after. Plus where is Red or anybody going to find that everyday, especially on Mt. Silver. :')

But woah anyway away from rambling about stuff like that. I would think that Red does count as Ash's game counterpart, since they have fairly similar journeys to each other! And Red and Green were childhood friends as well.

Childhood memories with Red and the family would have included them just being.. really lively kids!? They were competitive and really like rivals in everything since they were young before they were even on their journey, also Daisy entered into contests in the past so I think that Red would have memories as well of her grooming Pokemon at even that age (sitting around rival's house and Pokemon getting all prettied and cleaned up with her while Red comments on how good she is with Pokemon and Green taking this chance to go on about duh, that's 'cause his family is the best and he's gonna be just as famous as gramps!!)

Even Professor Oak knows about how Red and his grandson are in canon though, so memories with him in them are totally there.

I should ask the mods about Sam making his Snorlax PokeBlock... anyway!

In Sam's version of Ash and Gary growing up, I imagine he and Delia would switch off taking care of the kids so they both could get some work done/some peace and quiet, and when it was Sam's turn he would just do the usual affectionate fatherly stuff (playing with them, taking care of them, teaching them things, etc) and I think they got along before they became rivals if you want to go that far back.

After he's done with "hey that's not what I look like, why is he calling Gary Green and why don't I remember this Red kid" and realizes that it's an alternate universe, he will be slightly jealous that Other Him gets a granddaughter and he doesn't.

Luckily for them, Daisy was around and seems familiar enough also to how the boys can be, so likely she was as much of a guardian as the adults were. Red's mother also won't look like Delia since she has a darkish and more fuller(?)/longer hair than Ash's.

Though for a memory from Red, it could be just like the one I described above, with it maybe just cutting off as Oak comes into the house and Green calling him gramps.

I wouldn't mind going for a memory from any point though, personally! Whether they are friends or rivals, whatever you think is easiest to imagine/come up with. Red will be totally ??? either way about this Ash kid who is he. Good times for Red and Samuel.

Red's mom being different is fine with him, since Red isn't Ash, so it's just another person he doesn't recognize.

Should I come up with a specific memory for Red to get too, then? I've got an idea so that's fine with me.
