EVENT: Memory Swap

Based on some player plot suggestions, we’ve got a little bit of fun planned for you guys in the form of an event! It’s been a while since there’s been some tampering with the direct effects of contact between characters….And it’s about time for that to come into play!

How so? Starting on the 23rd (and going to the 30th with some leeway) memories and recall might become a bit odd for your character, and people they’ve been close with.

See, the contact system has been finicky again, and those people you’ve been spending time with, been in contact with...You might get to know them better, and vice-versa. It could begin in dreams, or a sudden hallucination.

But certain memories from your companions could end up in your head, and you trade some of your own. You may even LOSE those memories for a short time. Maybe it’s a dark secret, a sad or a happy memory…Or just that embarrassing event you try to forget about. But it’s not just yours anymore.

MECHANICS FAQ:
Can I swap memories with more than one person?
Quite possibly! The main thing is that it’s a two way swap, between you and the other character. So for example, Character A can swap memories with B, and then swap memories again with C. But if B and C want to swap memories, they’ll have to make contact.

Can I swap memories that aren’t my own?
As mentioned above, no. You’ll need to make contact with the original owner of the memories if you’d like a swap!

Do I have to forget?
Not at all! That’s an optional effect for extra drama, to take or leave as you see fit.

What memories count?
Canon memories, RP memories, it’s all good.

Do you happen to have a text box I can use for this event?
But of course! Naturally, this is optional if you want to fill it out!

Here is the best one I could find on Youtube. Sam shows up at ~3 minutes, the time travel happens at ~8 minutes, and the other end of the time travel happens at ~18 minutes. If you want the full context of the time travel I'd watch at least from when Sam shows up to when the time travel happens.

What I was thinking in turn was something along the lines of Dave: Accelerate, except not involving Calsprite because nobody needs to have Calsprite in their lives ever. And um how do would you like to get this happening?

Set up some kind of backdated log, either for initial physical contact, the characters meeting up to discuss the memories exchange, or both?

(As a word of warning though Sam has kind of forgotten the network exists, since he doesn't really have anyone to call.)

Yeah, that'd work. It might be easiest to semi-handwave the initial contact and thread out the discussion. Any preference?

Normally I'd be fine with that, but since Davesprite has such an unusual appearance Sam would definitely have questions... unless it's some way where Sam didn't get a good look at him (brushing against him with his back turned or something)/couldn't catch up to him afterward?

I think that would be best!

(Also I am going to be gone for the 4th of July weekend but I should be back on Sunday or Monday)
